Abstract
In today's digital world, ensuring secure and scalable personal identity management is of paramount importance. Traditional centralized systems pose significant vulnerabilities to breaches and misuse of personal data. To address these challenges, this study proposes an Ethereum-based Personal Identity Security System (EPISS) leveraging the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to enhance scalability and security. Blockchain technology has garnered significant attention in recent years for its potential to revolutionize various industries, including identity management and security. This study explores the concept of blockchain-based personal identity security systems, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of the underlying principles, applications, challenges, and future directions in this domain. It examines the key components of blockchain, including blocks, decentralized networks, consensus mechanisms, and cryptographic hash functions, highlighting their relevance to personal identity security system, the study delves into the applications of blockchain technology in identity management, emphasizing its ability to ensuring security, privacy, scalability, and interoperability. Ethereum's blockchain technology offers a decentralized platform ideal for managing digital identities through smart contracts. By utilizing Ethereum, EPISS ensures immutability and transparency in identity verification processes, thereby reducing the risk of identity fraud and unauthorized access. Furthermore, integrating IPFS with Ethereum enhances scalability by decentralizing storage of identity-related documents and data. IPFS provides a distributed file system that eliminates single points of failure and accelerates data retrieval, crucial for managing large volumes of identity information securely and efficiently.
