Impact of Performance Appraisal on Employee Productivity (a Case Study of Nigeria Breweries Plc, Ibadan, Oyo State)

Performance appraisal is one of the most useful management techniques used in evaluating the workers because it provides information required. The foregoing observation is predicted upon the fact that some individuals perceive performance appraisal as annual ritual having less meaning to them and the organization, as a result, paying little or no attention to it. This research study seeks to establish both theoretically and empirically the implications of Performance Appraisal on employee performance and development in an organization. The research also focuses on the necessity of performance appraisal report in the decision making or reward payable to the employees. The study also identifies common appraisal errors and the effect they could have on the workers morale and efficiency. In conclusion, some ingredients that must be present in the appraisal exercise were recommended. The research methodology for this study is basically primary data of categorical data analysis. The study follows a descriptive approach. The choice of this research design is to help the researcher examine the impact of performance appraisal on the employee performance of Nigeria Breweries PIc, Ibadan, Oyo State. Primary data was collected on performance appraisal, employee participation and organization benefit. The questionnaire is distributed to 55 staff, but only 45 respondents returned their questionnaires.
