Impact of Entrepreneurship Development on Employment Generation in Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State

Abstract
The study examines the impact of entrepreneurship development on employment generation in Kaura local government, Kaduna State. The major objectives of the study are to determine the impact of self-employment on employment generation in Kaura local government, investigate the effect of new firm formation and training on employment generation in Kaura local government and to also examine the impact of early stage entrepreneurs on employment generation in Kaura local government area, Kaduna State. The study made use of primary data sourced from 396 respondents via the use of questionnaire. With the aid of appropriate statistical analytical tool like the regression analysis was used to analyze the data received from the questionnaire. Self-employment is earning of income without being paid income and employing people to pay them for their effort, the success and failure of the organization depends on the owner, which impact on employment generation. New firm formation and training in the market implies important phenomenon of invention of new products, improvement in production processes, and increased competition in the market an increase in the number of new firms have positive effects on employment generation. Early stage entrepreneurs refers to idea generation of the business, the initial phase of starting and developing a new business venture which contribute positively to employment generation. Findings of the study revealed a positive and significant relationship between self-employment, new firm formation and training, early stage entrepreneurs on employment generation in Kaura local government, Kaduna Stat. Therefore, the study concludes that self-employment, new firm formation and training, early stage entrepreneurs impact employment generation positively. It was revealed in the findings entrepreneurs create way not for themselves but also for other citizens which have positive impact on the growth of the State. It is recommended that accurate statistics of the unemployed should be ascertained to allow for the design of a steady entrepreneurial development programme to tackle the need of the unemployed particularly the youths and women in Kaura local government, Kaduna State.
