Abstract
Copper (II) complex have garnered significant attention in recent years due to their potential applications in various fields, including catalysis material science and bio medicine. In this, we report the synthesis amd characterization of copper (II) complex diacteylmonoxime and ethylenediammine. The complex were synthesized using a conductivity, decomposition temperature. The IR spectra of the complexes show distinct absorption bond corresponding to the stretching vibrations of the C=N and C=O bands (1605cm-¹) and (1669 cm-¹) indicating the coordination of the diactylmonoxime and ethylenediammine ligands to the copper ( II) ion. The interaction of diactylmonoxime and ethylenediaamine formed a Schiff base of N,N bis-( 2- hydrozylpropylidiene)ethylenediammine which is yellow in colour when reaction with complexes the colour change to black. Thermal analysis showed that the complex melted at 180℃. Conductivity measurement of the complex yielded a value of 990µs/cm. The solubility of ethlylenediammine, diacetylmonoxime and copper (II) complexes was investigated in various solvent ethylenediammine exhibit solubility in acetone, water methanol Dmso, diethylether and chloroform, however its insoluble in benzene, Diacteylmonoxime exhibit good solulibity in methanol, Dmso, diethylether and chloroform and insoluble in acetone, water and benzene. While the complex is soluble in water and Dmso and slightly soluble in acetone, methanol, diethylether and insoluble in choloroform and benzene.
