Personnel Management and Organizational Performance (a Case Study of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria)

Abstract This project deals with personnel management and organizational performance (A case study of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria). The research objective are: to examine the role personnel management play in the achievement of organization’s development and to examine how personnel management get the right man, with the right background, in the right place and at the right time. The research work adopted survey designed management performs vital function in managing human resources. Stratified sample techniques were used to select sample size of 100. Primary and secondary source of data were employed. Simple percentage and chi-square was used to analyze the data collected. Hypotheses were testing using chi-square statistical technique. The study found that personnel management gets the right man, with the right background, in the right place and at the right time. It was concluded that human resources manager handle all the aspect of human capital needed in an organization, he involve placement of advert, selection of applicant, placement and motivation of employees in a work place. It was recommended that two or more personnel management should be employed in an organization so that the work load and the responsibility of the personnel management can shave among them and, personnel management should be giving adequate salaries in order to have the interest to motivate workers and give them the necessary incentive to increase the higher productivity.
