Abstract
This study examines the meaning and function of prepositions in the text of "Umdatul-Ahkam, Kitab al-Taharah", a foundational Islamic text on ritual purification. Through a syntactical analysis, this research aims to clarify the role of prepositions in conveying meaning and context in Islamic texts. The study identifies and analyzes the most common prepositions used in the text, including بِ (bi-), فِي (fi-), عَلَى (ʿalā), مِنْ (min), and إِلَى (ilā), and explores their implications for understanding Islamic teachings and hadiths. The findings of this study contribute to a deeper understanding of Arabic syntax and the interpretation of Islamic texts.
