Abstract
Since perovskite solar cells first reached approximately 10% efficiency in 2012, progress has been incredibly fast. Today, perovskite solar cells hold a certified efficiency record of 22.1%. This study explores band gap effects on various cell layers and finds ideal values. Simulations with SCAPS-1D reveal that while a 1.0 eV band gap is optimal, actual device efficiency was 0.04%. Results highlight the importance of optimizing all layers for high-performance solar cells.
