Abstract
ABSTRACT This project work examines the relationship between land border closure and the econOmY of Nigeria Nations depends on international trade for sustenance, the etehange of abendant resowrces for the scare or needed resources. The subsequent clasre of land borders has become a subject for debate in the lips of Nigerians and international communities, no doubt, the closure of land borders in Nigeria has trading aross various cowntries and the nation in particular. A sample sze of 1 88 respondents were used for this stucy which included business men and women, farmers, importers and exporters, government agencies amongst others. Data for this research were gotten rom primary and secondary source using oral interview, questionmaires and publications, magazines and social media. Chi-square was used to test the analyze data In the course of the research, it was discovered that land border closure has both negahe nd positive impact in the economy of Nigeria. lt was concluded that the negative impact would have further deepen the plight and poverty in Nigeria and has caused inlation to the economy of Nigeria, on the other hand, local production has been encoTaged, dunping has been reduced to barest minimum. It was recommended among others that the goverment should ensure they make adequate arrangement to tackle the intlation, and also to encourage local productions, give loan to farmers, empower small and medium scale industries and so on.
