Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examine the Assessment of the Performance of National Health Insurance Authority on the Staff of Auchi Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State. It examined the significant relationship between the national health insurance Authority and effective, accessibility and impact of health care delivery among the staff of Auchi Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State.The population was made up of 140 staff. The sample size of the study was 103. The outcome of the study was analyzed by the use of table and chi-square. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaire and oral interview. Hypothesis was also formulated and tested. The methods of data collection where primary sources and secondary sources i.e. questionnaire, personal interview and consultation of textbooks, internet, journals etc. The following findings were made after the data collected from the field survey had been presented and analyzed. That there is a significant relationship between the national health insurance scheme and effective health care delivery among the staff of Auchi Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State. It was found out that there is a significant difference in the quality of health care delivered to Nigerians under the Platform of (NHIA) and those who are not. Based on the research findings, the following recommendations are made: Coverage of everybody not only Federal workers but also unemployed, self-employed, state and Local Government in Nigeria. Creating special hospitals in each Local Government just for NHIS clients for easy accessibility of healthcare services, improvement of health status of the country and reduction of death rate during emergency.
