Impact of Clinical Documentation Improvement Program on Clinical Coding Accuracy in Uniosun Teaching Hospital Osogbo Osun State

Abstract
?The study examined the impact of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) programs on clinical coding accuracy in UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Osun State. A descriptive research design was adopted, using structured questionnaires administered to health professionals. Out of 156 distributed questionnaires, 152 were retrieved, giving a 97% response rate. Data were analyzed with SPSS version 20. Findings revealed a high level of coding accuracy (69.7%) among respondents and an 80% effectiveness rate of CDI programs. The study concludes that proper documentation enhances medical practice and recommends continuous training, user-friendly EHR systems, interprofessional collaboration, and regular documentation audits.
