Utilization of Library Resources by Female Students in Nigerian Universities; a Case Study of Yusuf Maitama Sule University Library

Abstract
Abstract The study was designed to utilization of library resources by female students in Nigerian universities; a case study of Yusuf Maitama Sule University Library. The specific objectives of the study were to determine the extent of utilization of library resources by female students in Nigerian universities; to identify the factors that influences the utilization of library resources by female students in Nigerian universities; to compare the utilization of library resources by female students in Nigerian universities to that of male students; to find out the factors militating against library used by females in the libraries under study. The literature was reviewed in line with the objective of the study. Total of 23,018 make up the population of the study, out of which 200 were randomly selected and participated in the survey, providing valuable insights into their perspectives and experiences. Questionnaire was used as data collection instrument. The collected data was analysed using frequency count and percentages. The findings of the study revealed that a complex tapestry of female students' experiences with library resources in Nigerian universities.
