Impact of Entrepreneurship Orientation on Business Start-Up Intention of Undergraduate Students of Kaduna State University (kasu).

Abstract
Abstract This study examined the impact of Entrepreneurship orientation on business start-up intention of Undergraduate Students of Kaduna State University (KASU) using a cross-sectional design. Out of 150 distributed structured questionnaires, a substantial 86.7% response rate was achieved and used for analysis. Data were coded and analyzed using SPSS version 20, employing frequency and percentages to assess respondent characteristics, mean scores for general analysis, and multiple regression for testing specific objectives and hypotheses. The findings revealed that pro-activeness significantly affect business start-up Intention, with a standardized coefficient (Beta) of 0.422, a t-value of 2.566, and a significance level of 0.011, indicating a positive and statistically significant relationship. Risk Taking also showed a positive and significant impact, with a Beta of 0.444, a t-value of 2.798, and a significance level of 0.005. Additionally, the competitive Aggressiveness had a positive effect, with a Beta of 0.684, a t-value of 2.961, and a significance level of 0.000. The study concludes that Entrepreneurship orientation significantly influence the students Intention to start-up a business in Kaduna State University (KASU). It recommends that there is need to intensify entrepreneurship orientation at individual levels and institution levels. This will enhance their prompt response to rival's every more in industry. For instance, students can enhance their competitive position and innovation by entering market with drastically lower prices, copying the business practices or techniques of successful competitors or making timely announcement of new product or techniques. Additionally there is a need to improve and sustain innovative activities by students. Student should be flexible to change through innovative ideas and market dynamic. This will drive profitability and sustainability of business. Finally the study is limited to undergraduate students of Kaduna State University (KASU). It didn't cover other institution such as Ahmadu Bello University, Federal Polytechnic Kaduna and Air Force Institute of Technology within the state, also since this study is on undergraduate students of Kaduna State University (KASU), a further research should be carried out to test both intention and survival of business of undergraduate students and postgraduate students in Kaduna State.
