Adoption of Information and Communication Technology in Quantity Surveying Profession

Abstract
The main statement of the problem is that an organization could be find to be major obstacles to theintroduction and use of information and communication technology in a developing country likeNigeria. These bring about the research topic: adoption of information and communicationtechnology in quantity surveying profession. This was supplemented by available books, documents,published and unpublished thesis. Accordingly, the study came up with three research objectiveswhich includes to identify the factors that limit the adoption of information and communicationtechnology in quantity surveying profession, to determine the relevancies of adoption of informationand communication technology in quantity surveying profession and to develop strategies in theadoption of relevant of information and communication technology in quantity surveying profession.The research work is limited to Ondo State. Simple random selection was the sample technique usedfor this research work. The study population consists of sixty-one sample size which are consultingQuantity Surveying firms, Contracting Quantity Surveying firms and Public Services Firms in OndoState. Mean score and Relative importance index was used for the analysis of the retrieved data. Itwas concluded that there should be proper training on the usage of information and communicationtechnology software by Quantity Surveying professionals and graduates, there should be goodgovernment policies that make it mandatory to make use of software where need.
