Availability and Adequacy of Relevant Educational Resources for Effective Teaching and Learning of History in Imo State University.

Abstract
This study was carried out to find out Availability and Adequacy of educational resources for effective teaching and learning of history in Imo University. Four research objectives and four research questions were posed to guide this research work. The researcher adopted descriptive survey design for this study. The population of the study is 1,192 consisting of 18 history lecturers and 1174 history students of Imo State University. The sample for the study was 262 History lecturers and students drawn from the total p population of 1,192 using a random sampling technique. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire made by the researcher titled: ‘‘Availability and Adequacy of educational resources for effective teaching and learning of history Rating Scale (AAERETLHRS)” . Reliability of the instrument was established at a correlation coefficient index of 0.84. Data collected was analyzed using mean score and standard deviation. The findings of the study are among other things that there are lack of human resources, poor instructional materials, inadequate funding and Infrastructural facilities. Based on these findings, it was recommended among other things that investment should be made in digital resources and collaborations with other agencies should be encouraged to enhance financial resources
