Abstract
ABSTRACT The microbial assessment of the antibiogram of isolates of door handles of campus shuttles was investigated in this study using standard microbiological techniques. The result of the isolates of door handles of campus shuttles revealed that the door handles of campus shuttles samples had total viable bacteria count ranging from 4x10' to 41x10' (cfu/ml), the total coliform count recorded ranged from 3x10' to 9x10' (cfu/ml). While the total fungi count ranged from Ix10ª to 14x10 (cfu/ml). The bacteria isolates obtained were Staphylococcus species, Pseudomonas species and Bacillus species, and Escherichia coli, While fungi isolates gotten where Aspergillus species, Candida albicans and Mucor species. The frequency and percentage occurrence include Pseudomonas 16(16.32), Bacillus species 19(19.39), Escherichia coli 30(30.61), and Staphylococcus species 33(33.67). Staphylococcus species has the highest occurring bacteria while Pseudomonas has the least occurring bacteria.
