Achieving Organisational Success Through Effective Planning and Decision Making (a Case Study of Guaranty Trust Bank, Plc, Auchi Edo State)

This study is “Achieving Organizational Success through Effect of Planning and Decision-Making.” The degree of success of any organization depends on how management plan and make reasonable decisions, planning is deciding in advance what to do, how to do not when to do and who to do it with. Planning bridges the gaps from where we are, coming from and where we want to be. For any organization, there must be a lead among her competitions, they must learn to set out time to plan and take decisions that will move the organization forward. Any organization who fails to plan has already plan to fail because effective planning and wise decision making are the pivot in which ever functional department in an organization stand. Hence the research is aimed at identifying the definition of planning and decision making type of planning and decision making, nature of planning, importance of planning, limitation of planning, decision in making process and (MBO in carrying out this research. Six research questions were formulated and relevant information on the importance of planning an decision makings was sorted, using questionnaires to gather data, persona? Interview, books from library, lecture note and information was also source from the internet. Stratified random sampling procedure was used in selection of the study participants is made up of 30 workers and chi-square method was also used to analyze the data. Since planning and decision making have positive effect on the growth of job performance top management should find way in which the importance of planning and decision making in any organization could enhance level of productivities and efficiency.
