Design and Implementation of an Online Result Checker (computer Science Department)

ABSTRACT This project examines the design and implementation of an online result checker for the Computer Science Department at Federal Polytechnic, Mubi. The primary objective was to address the inefficiencies and challenges associated with traditional result processing methods, including delays, inaccuracies, and lack of transparency. Through a systematic approach, the research developed a user-friendly online platform that automates result dissemination, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and user satisfaction. The methodology involved a thorough needs assessment, system design, and implementation, followed by user testing to ensure functionality and accessibility. The findings revealed that the online result checker significantly reduced the time taken to publish results and improved the students' confidence in the accuracy of their academic records. User feedback indicated a marked increase in satisfaction levels, as the system provided timely access to results without the congestion often associated with physical notice boards. Based on the outcomes, the project recommends continuous updates to the system, training for faculty members, and strategies to promote awareness among students. Furthermore, it suggests that further research should explore advanced functionalities to enhance the platform's capabilities. Overall, this project contributes to the modernization of educational practices in Nigeria, illustrating the potential of digital solutions to improve administrative processes and foster trust within academic institutions.
