Abstract
ABSTRACT Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are chemicals that evaporate easily, releasing harmful pollutants into the air. This study examines the sources, health impacts, and environmental effects of VOCs, highlighting the need for mitigating strategies. The analysis reveals that VOCs originate from various sources, including industrial processes, vehicle emissions, and household products. Exposure to volatile organic compounds is linked to respiratory problems (asthma, lung damage), neurological damage (headaches, cognitive impairment), and cancer. Environmental impacts include air pollution, water contamination, and ecosystem disruption. Notably, benzene, formaldehyde, and toluene are identified as priority VOCs due to their high toxicity and prevalence. Environmental effects are air pollution, water contamination, ecosystem disruption. This study underscores the significant risks posed by VOCs to human health and the environment. Reducing VOC emissions requires a multi-faceted approach, including stricter regulations, sustainable practices, and public awareness campaigns. Implementing effective mitigation strategies can minimize VOC-related harm and promote a healthier environment.
