Abstract
ABSTRACT The health of freshwater ecosystems is essential for sustaining biodiversity and supporting human well-being. However, increasing pollution from human activities and natural processes threatens the water quality of many rivers and lakes worldwide. This study aims to assess the water quality of River Ngada by analyzing parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen, TDS, chloride, turbidity, and nitrate levels. From the study, sampling station C has the highest mean turbidity 31mg/L with a relatively high nitrate (NO;) level 5.87mg/l. It can also be observed that the result show TDS (198 mg/l) which is low than station A, B and D of 203mg/1, 238mg/1 and 298mg/l respectively. Findings reveal that water quality metrics frequently exceed national standards, particularly in turbidity levels, indicating potential health risks from contaminants such as agricultural runoff and domestic waste.
