Abstract
This study assess waste management practice in building construction site, with a focus on reducing material wastage and promoting sustainable practices. The primary aim was to assess causes of material wastage, identify strategies to minimize waste through accurate planning. and suggest sustainable measures. Key objectives included examining site management practices. material estimation accuracy, and the role of training in resource handling. Using a sample of 5- construction professionals, data were collected through structured questionnaires and unalyzed using descriptive statistics. including frequeney tables and the Relative Importance Inder (RII). Results revealed that poor sire management, inaccurate material estimation, and untrained labor were significant contributors to wastage. Effective strategies for waste reduction included precise estimation tools, training programs, and digital tracking systems. Additionally. sustainable practices such as recycling and local sourcing emerged as crucial for minimizing environmental impact. In conclusion, the study underscores the need for improved site mamagement. accurate material forecasting, and sustainability-focused practices. Recommendations include adopting advanced planning technologies, implementing worker training. and integrating digital tracking to enhance materials management on construction sites. These findings contribute to more efficient and environmentally responsible construction practices.
