An Assessment of Instagram Body Images Emotional and Dress Objectification Among Female Students of Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti

Abstract
This study investigates female students of the federal polytechnic, Ado- Ekiti instagram useage and their dress beautification.The specific objectives of the study are to; investigate the extent of instagram body images’ consume by female students of the federal polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti; examine the influence of instagram body images’ on the dress patterns of female students of the federal polytechnic; investigate the influence of instagram body images’ consumption on the emotional construct of female students of federal polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti using social cognitive theory which serve as the theoretical cornerstone. The survey research design was used to study the population of 10000 from which the sample size of 250 respondent was drawn. Findings of this research showed that students view instagram on daily basis and they have become attracted and addicted to it. It also showed that instagram exposure to idealize body images has led to body dissatisfaction and a desire to conform to unrealized beautify slandereds among the students. The study recommend social media influencers and organizations that advocate for body positivity and diversity to create campaigns that challenge beauty standards. These campaign can encourage students to entrance their natural bodies and appreciate diversity in appearance, rather than striving to conform to unattainable ideals.
