Abstract
This study title Im Investigating The Attitude Of Students Academic Performance Towards Learning Biology In Senior Secondary School (A Case Study Of Kumbotso Local Government Area). The objectives of the study To identify the attitudes of students academic performance towards learning biology in some selected senior secondary school in Kumbotso Local Government. To identify the major problems of biology at senior secondary school level in Kumbotso. To identify the steps for the improvement of students attitudes towards learning of biology in some selected secondary school in Kumbotso. The study is a survey research type because surveys allow researchers to collect a large amount of data in a relatively short period, surveys are less expensive than any other data collection techniques. Also survey can be created quickly and administered easily.The study was conducted in some selected secondary schools in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano state. The target population of this research work comprises one public school and one private school in Kumbotso L.G.A and one public school and one private school in L.G.A. A total of 200 students were randomly selected from the four secondary schools under study and these students ages were between 16 and 18 years old. The researcher made the following recommendations to improved the students attitude towards learning biology as follows: Teachers should adopt different teaching strategies for students so that each and every student will be carry along during delivering of lesson so that positive feedback will be obtained from the student. Teachers should provide suitable textbook for the students that will aroused their interest toward learning the subjects. The Governments in conjunction with the private school owners should develop a clear blue print on adequate funding of school laboratories and provision of school gardens.
