Abstract
This project focused on designing and development of a solar system for irrigation system aimed at providing a sustainable and cost-effective solution for managing agricultural water needs. The primary goal was to create an affordable system powered by solar energy and evaluate its effectiveness. Materials were carefully chosen to strike a balance between cost durability, and performance. Key components included polycrystalline silicon solar panels, tubular lead-acid batteries, a hybrid inverter, and an AC water pump. When implemented, the system successfully demonstrated its capabilities, efficiently pumping water from a depth of 7.4 meters to an overhead tank situated 4.88 meters above the ground achieving a combined pumping height of 12.28 meters. This work underscores the transformative potential of renewable energy in agriculture, offering farmers a reliable, eco-friendly, and economically viable alternative for irrigation. By harnessing solar energy, the project paves the way for improved productivity and more sustainable forming practices.
