The Importance of Costume and Makeup in Festivals. a Study of "asaba Ezeugbo Festival"

Abstract
This Study is about the importance of costume and makeup in festival, using Asaba ezeugbo festival as a case study. It assert that Costume and makeup helps in identifying age,gender, status and the culture of a particular group of people. The study researched more on the Ezeugbo Festival that is being held in the month of September by the people of Asaba, Delta state. It used participatory observation method to get information from the community, personal interview, library source, internet etc. The concludes that costume and makeup is very important in festivals, because it showcases the traditional heritage of the people. It recommends that there should be proper used in festivals because of it's aesthetic values and also a vital aspect of the festival, further recommends documentation of the different types of costume and makeup for future consultations.
