Abstract

This study aimed to design and implement a student complaint management system for Federal Polytechnic Kauran Namoda, Zamfara State. The existing system is characterized by several anomalies, such as inaccurate reports, lack of privacy in lodging complaints, inadequate feedback mechanisms, and unnecessary delays. The proposed system was designed to overcome these challenges.Data related to complaint management was collected from the Student Affairs Department of the Polytechnic and was used to design a complaint management model using various Unified Modeling Language (UML) tools, such as Use Case diagrams and Activity diagrams. The model was implemented using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL. The developed system was then tested using the black-box testing technique to evaluate its functionality. The study concludes that if deployed, the student complaint management system would efficiently eliminate the challenges associated with the existing complaint management system at Federal Polytechnic Kauran Namoda and enhance the productivity of the institution’s administrative processes.
