Prevalence of Tick Infestation Among Sheeps and Goats at Mokoda Local Government Area of Kano State.

Abstract
This study examined the prevalence, distribution, and impact of tick infestations among sheep and goats in Makoda Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria, with the aim of identifying infestation patterns and associated risk factors in small ruminants. Employing a descriptive cross-sectional survey design, data were collected through physical examination of 110 randomly selected animals across three rural settlements—Thomas, Santake, and Danmarkeand structured interviews with livestock owners and herders. Variables such as species, breed, sex, age, and severity of infestation were documented, while tick identification focused on morphological features observed during field inspections.
