Abstract
ABSTRACT The issue of intragroup relation is a major one in Nigeria because as it plays a crucial role in what is going on in Nigeria today and what it holds for the future. Eko-Ekpetin and its neighbors are groups located in the same geographical space in Edo State; therefore, the study of their relations is the focus of this project essay. This project essay seeks answers to what exactly has continued to sustain the relationship between the people of Eko-Ekpetin and its neighbors in Ovia North East Local Government Area. This study spans from the earliest times to the present. Various aspects of intragroup relations such as economic, political, trade; social activities are properly examined. On the other hand, this period is relevant because the researcher has the desire to discover the different forms of intragroup relations between Eko-Ekpetin and its neighbors over the years. A qualitative research method based on narrative and deseriptive was employed for this study with primary data obtained from oral interviews and secondary information from textbooks, journals and internet among others. Finding from this study shows that intragroup relations between Eko-Ekpetin and its neighbors have been peaceful with the exception of recent land crisis between Eko-Ekpetin and Igbekhue community. However, despite the recent crisis which started in 2003, Eko-ekpetin and its neighbors have grown together socially, economically and politically moving their region forward.
