Design and Construction of a Double Acting Reciprocating Water Pump

Abstract

A double acting reciprocating pump was designed and fabricated using locally available materials. Material that could not be sourced here in Edo State were sourced in Ogun State. The assembled pump was tested and results demonstrated a flow rate of about 0.47l/s. The pump is manually operated could be suitable for use in rural area of Nigeria including small homes, cottage, industries and the operations in the urban settings.
