The study also investigated whether excessive ritual themes in Nigeria movies influences Akwa Ibom youths' interest in ritual activities for wealth creation, and it determined the role of cultural and societal norms in shaping Akwa Ibom youths’ perceptions of wealth as influenced by Nollywood movies. They research method was used in gathering data for the study. Using the stratified random sampling technique, a sample of 400 participants aged 15 to 35 years was drawn from a total population of 1,444,836 youths in Uyo Local Government Area. Out of 400 copies of questionnaire administered, 360 copies of the questionnaire were properly completed and found useful for analysis. The research explores the extent to which Nollywood movies influence the cultural and societal norms shaping youths’ perceptions of wealth, examining factors such as primary influences on their views and the accuracy of Nollywood’s portrayal of Akwa Ibom’s cultural values regarding wealth. The findings also reveals that the majority of Akwa Ibom youths 270 (75%) are not influenced by Nollywood’s portrayal of ritual activities to consider engaging in such action for wealth.
