Abstract

This study assessed the River Kaduna Water Quality at Kabala Doki for irrigation purposes. The water sample were collected at 3 points using plastic bottles of 1.5 litres which were properly sterilized and were fully immersed into the river at 6-7cm below water surface at 25m interval while sample were analyzed, the mean value obtained include pH 5.57, temperature 29.25°C, Biocarbonate 1.9mg/l. However the values of SAR and ECW obtained range from 1.78-2.36mg/l and 1.50-1.70ds/m ratio respectively. The water is not suitable for all crops in terms of sodium 60.75mg/l, magnesium 17.5mg/l, calcium 34.5mg/l content.
