Effects of Knowledge Sharing and Self-Development on Perceived Apathy for Computerized Health Information Management in Oauthc Ile-Ife and Uniosun Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Osun State.

Abstract
ABSTRACT The main focus of this study was to investigate the effects of knowledge sharing and self- development on perceived apathy for computerized health information management in OAUTHC Ile- Ife and UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo. The study assessed the practice of knowledge sharing among health information management practitioners, investigated the level of self- development among health information management practitioners, examined the level of apathy for computerized health information management among health information professionals, analyzed the impact of knowledge sharing on apathy for computerization of health information management, examined the impact of self-development on perceived apathy for computerized health information management. The study adopted a descriptive survey design in which structured questionnaire were use for data collection. The target population was 109 staff of OAUTHC and UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital that sampled 109 respondents using total enumeration. 109 questionnaires were administered and 105 questionnaires were retrieved and the response rate achieved was 96.3%. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency and simple percentages with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0. The study revealed that100(100.0%) agreed that sufficient knowledge fosters interest and reduces security concerns about computerized systems. It was also observed that engagement in self-development activities is unanimously seen as essential for reducing apathy, empowering individuals, boosting confidence, and promoting professional growth. Majority (83.8%) of the respondentsratedthesecuritylevelofcomputerizedhealthinformationasveryhighcomparedto paper- based health records. In UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo and OAUTHC, Ile-Ife. And Alargemajority,89(84.8%), strongly agreed that a high level of self-development results in high self- confidence in operating computerized HIM systems The study concluded that findings indicate that knowledge sharing and self-development are crucial in mitigating apathy towards computerization. Therefore, recommends that, the Management should develop more interactive and engaging content on departmental social media platforms to further promote knowledge sharing. Introduce regular webinars, discussion threads, and Q&A sessions with experts.
