Effects of Different Plants Extract on the Control of Early Blight Diseases of Tomato (solanum Lycopericum) in Owerri Imo State

Abstract
Abstract The control of tomato early blight has relied almost exclusively on the application of synthetic fungicides. The use of plant extract is a safe and eco-friendly alternative of managing many plant pathogens. The present study evaluated the effects of some leaf extract in the management of the disease. The experiment was laid in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replicates. The treatments consisted of plots sprayed with extract of Azadirachta indica, Allium cepa, Vernonia amygadaline, and the Control plot. Data were collected on stem height, number of leaves, number of fruits , fruit yield weight and Disease severity. Early blight severity was observed in control plots at 2,4,6 and 8 weeks after transplanting [WAT].
