Human Resource Management and Teachers’ Performance in Business Studies in Secondary Schools in Obubra Local Government of Cross River State.

Abstract
This study assess human resource management and teachers’ performance in Business Studies in secondary schools in Obubura Local Government of Cross River State. To achieve the purpose of this study, four research questions was poised as well as four null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The survey research design was adopted for this study. A sample of 200 teachers was drawn for the study using the simple random sampling technique. A 20 item questionnaire with four point Likert rating scale was developed and used by the researcher for data collection. Data generated from the administration of the instrument were subjected to statistical analysis using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis. Each of the hypotheses was tested at 0.05 levels of significance. The result obtained from the analysis revealed that there was significant relationship between management of human resources, promotion, teacher regular training programme, participation in decision making and teachers’ performance in Business Studies in the study area. In line with the finding of this study and conclusion made therein, it was recommended among others that government and school administrators should manage both human and material resources in schools to enhance teacher’s job performance, teachers should be given and sponsored for seminars and conferences.
