Abstract
The study investigates the cyanide content in garri, a cassava-based food, sold in Kaduna North and South, Nigeria. A total of 12 garri samples were analyzed using Copper (II) sulphate test and the alkaline picrate method. The results showed that garri from both locations had similar cyanide levels (25.04 ± 0.00 μg/g), which were below the WHO's safe limit of 10 mg/kg. Therefore, garri sold in Kaduna Metropolis is considered safe for consumption.
