Abstract
The present experiment was conducted to determine the Evaluation of insecticidal activities of combined tomato and lime orange leaves extracts (synergy) against beans weevils. Fresh tomato and line orange leaves were collected from their natural habitat in Minna in a sterile Polythene bag. The leaves were washed under running water,to remove sand and other particles like pieces of wood which may act as contaminants and was air dried at room temperature (under shade) for five (5)consecutive day The results revealed that the highest concentration of powdered (tomato and lime orange) (2.5g) demonstrated a significant difference compared to the lower concentrations (1.0g and 1.5g) in terms of weevil mortality. The group treated with the 2.5g concentration showed a substantia! decrease in the number of emerged adult weevils compared to the lower concentrations. In the control group, the population of beans weevils was not significant in reduction throughout the experimental pariad, leading to a significant decrease in bean grain quality. In contrast, the group Treated with the highest concentration of powdered tomato and lime orange leaf exhibited a significant reduction in beans weevil population, effectively mitigating damage to the grains. The use of aqueous leaves extract of tomato and lime orange infested with bean weevil sighificanty miuenced the agromorphological performance of the crop. tihe extract exhibited significant efficacy against the bean weevil infestation, The treated plants had lower levels of infestation and damage compared to the control group. This indicates that the leaf extract of tomato and lime orange possesses insecticidal properties that effectively deter or reduce bean weevil infestations
