Relevance of Secretarial Competencies to Organizational Growth and Development (case Study of International Breweries Plc, Ilesha, Osun State)

Abstract
Abstract The purpose of this project work was to find out the relevance of secretarial competencies for organizational growth and development (case study of international breweries Plc, Ilesha Osun State). The population of the study comprised 20 confidential secretaries, the researcher studied the whole population because of the manageable size. four (4) research questions guided the study: (1) To what extent are secretarial competencies still relevant in managing information for organizational growth and development? (2)To what extent are secretarial competencies still relevant in handling correspondence processing for organizational growth development? (3)To what extent are secretarial competencies still relevant in managing meeting for organizational growth development (4)To what extent are secretarial competencies still relevant in keeping record for organizational growth development? Questionnaires were distributed by hand and the data were analyzed through simple mean method. The findings revealed that secretarial competencies still relevant in managing information, keeping of records, managing of meetings, conflict management, communication skills and empathy skills. It was recommended that organization should make provision for proper monitoring of secretaries which will make them to be more committed to the schemes. It was concluded that secretarial competencies has influence on secretaries for organizational growth and development.
