Abstract

ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline and neuronal damage, with oxidative stress and inflammation playing a major role in its pathogenesis. The search for natural bioactive compounds with therapeutic potential against Alzheimer's disease has led to the exploration of phytochemicals found in medicinal plants. This study aim to evaluate the phytochemical composition of (Mentha piperita l and its potential therapeutic effects on Alzheimer's disease through biochemical assessments of the brain, kidney, and liver in an experimental rat model. A total of 12 Wistar rats (n=3 per group) were divided into 4 experimental groups, including a normal control, Alzheimer’s Disease -induced groups, and treatment groups receiving different plant extracts 9 Wistar rats were exposed to Arsenite and divided into different treatment groups receiving extracts from the selected plant. The study evaluated hematological, hepatic, and renal biomarkers, such as AST, ALT, ALP, BIL, GGT, ALB, SOD, and DNA fragmentation. Statistical analysis was conducted using one-way ANOVA, with significant differences defined at P
