Abstract
Effective personnel attendance and monitoring are crucial for organizational productivity and efficiency. This study aims to design and implement a personnel attendance and monitoring system for the Security Unit of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi. The system seeks to automate attendance tracking, reduce time theft, and enhance accountability among security personnel. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining surveys, interviews, and observational studies to gather data. The results revealed significant limitations in the existing manual attendance system, including inaccuracies, inefficiencies, and lack of real-time monitoring. The proposed system utilizes RFID technology, Staff I.D number authentication, and cloudbased data storage to ensure accurate and secure attendance tracking. The system's implementation is expected to improve attendance management, reduce administrative burdens, and enhance overall security unit performance. The study's findings contribute to the body of knowledge on attendance management systems and provide valuable insights for similar organizations seeking to improve personnel attendance and monitoring system.
