Abstract
This research project titled “Assessment of Digital Literacy Skills of Librarians for Teaching in the Library of the College of Education, Gidan Waya, Kaduna” aimed to evaluate the digital literacy skills required for effective teaching and learning. Guided by four objectives and corresponding research questions, the study employed a survey research design with a sample of 90 respondents. Findings revealed that technological development and the use of electronic information significantly enhance librarians’ digital literacy skills. Participation and collaboration were identified as key methods for applying these skills. However, challenges such as inadequate electronic resources, lack of library commitment, and insufficient technological infrastructure were observed. The study recommends the provision of digital literacy training, improved integration of digital skills into teaching, diverse evaluation methods, and better technological resources to overcome existing challenges.
