Influence of Microsoft Office Competencies on Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Secretarial Practice (case Study of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Osun State)

study focused on influence of Microsoft office competencies on entrepreneurship opportunities in secretarial practice. The population of the study comprised 33 business owners who are OTM graduates working in Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. For the purpose of collecting information, various literature and texibooks were consulted. Also a well structured questionnaire was constructed, administered on the subject. The frame work for data collection of the research work was built on four (4) research questions. (i) What is the influence of Microsoft word competencies on entrepreneurship opportunities in secretarial practice? (ii) What is the influence of Microsoft excel competencies on entrepreneurship opportunities in secretarial practice? (ili) What is the influence of Microsoft access competencies on entrepreneurship opportunities in secretarial practice? (iv)What is the influence of Microsoft publisher competencies on entrepreneurship opportunities in secretarial practice? The questionnaire was distributed by hand. Responses to the research questions were analyzed using simple mean method. It was concluded that that Microsoft Office competencies have influence on entrepreneurship opportunities of secretarial practitioners in the following ways; it helps in establishment of print and newsletter publishing firm, designing print adverts for newspaper, establishment of graphics design and printing studio. It was recommended that Integrating the use of Microsoft Office suite into OTM curriculum, this will enhance their productivity and make them self employed.
