Abstract
This study examined the relationship between digital transformation strategies and competitive advantage, using OPay Fintech as a case study. Specifically, it assessed the impact of digital channel adoption and usage, service efficiency and automation, data security and trust, as well as financial benefits and value creation on OPay's competitive positioning in the fintech industry. The study adopted a survey research design, with customers of OPay Fintech serving as the population. A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed while 391 copies were retrieved, and deemed usable for analysis. The study employed a stratified random sampling technique in selecting respondents. Data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics, including frequency distribution, mean, and standard deviation. Furthermore, multiple regression analysis was conducted using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) technique through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 24. Findings revealed a positive and significant relationship between digital channel adoption and usage, service efficiency and automation, data security and trust, financial benefits, and value creation, and OPay's competitive advantage. The study recommends that OPay further enhance its digital channels by integrating advanced technologies to improve user experience, strengthen automation processes to optimise service delivery, reinforce cybersecurity measures to enhance customer trust, and continue providing financial incentives that add value to customers. These measures will enable OPay to sustain its competitive advantage in the evolving fintech landscape.
