Abstract

Abstract: This project report documents the planning, design, and production of News Star, a 12-page standard newspaper produced by HND II Mass Communication students of Kaduna Polytechnic. The publication focuses on practical journalism, covering social, educational, and entertainment topics while applying classroom knowledge to real-life media practice. The study emphasizes teamwork, creativity, and adherence to professional editorial standards. It also highlights challenges such as printing costs, design decisions, and time constraints encountered during production. Overall, News Star demonstrates students’ ability to translate theoretical learning into professional newspaper production with emphasis on accuracy, creativity, and social responsibility.
