Abstract
ABSTRACT The aim of this project is to design and implement a computerized payroll system. Computerized payroll system is one of the technologies commonly used in human resources and it is considered as the heart of its activities. The design model used for the purpose of this work is the waterfall model. This is due to the fact that waterfall model prescribes a systematic approach to software development which starts with a well-defined, specifcation of requirements and move through a deployment in linear form. Using an open source language design and a database Server, this design shows payment of workers’salaries can easily be made. This design shows that in comparison to the existing system, the new system implementation is efficient and cost effective and less time is consumed in the process of payment of salaries. The design was successfully implemented using Cascading Styling Sheet, Hyper Text Markup Language, My Structured Query Language and Hypertext Preprocessor as the programming languages.
