Intelligent Home Automation System

The rising demand for smart home solutions has led to significant advancements in automation, security, and safety systems. This project introduces a Computer Vision-Based Home Automation System that integrates face recognition, RFID authentication, motion detection, temperature-based automation, and fire detection to enhance security, energy efficiency, and overall convenience in modern homes. The system is built using a Raspberry Pi and an Arduino Mega as core processing units, interfacing with various input sensors and actuators to automate household appliances. The security module utilizes computer vision for face recognition and RFID-based access control to prevent unauthorized entry. The automation module enables motion-activated lighting, temperature-controlled fan operations, and water level monitoring, ensuring optimal energy usage. Additionally, the safety module incorporates infrared flame sensors to detect fires and trigger emergency shutdowns. The system also offers wireless control via Bluetooth, allowing users to manage appliances remotely. Experimental evaluations have demonstrated high recognition accuracy in controlled environments, although some performance limitations were observed in low-light conditions and regarding sensor accuracy. Future enhancements include Wi-Fi-based cloud connectivity, AI-driven predictive automation, and improved security protocols. By combining computer vision, IoT, and automation, this project provides a scalable and costeffective smart home solution that enhances security, convenience, and energy efficiency.
