Abstract
The aim of this project is to develop an automatic change-over switch with generator control system to ensure an uninterrupted power supply. The project was carried out to eliminate the delays and inefficiencies of manual switching between the main power (NEPA) and a backup power (Generator), which can lead to power disruptions. The system employs an Arduino Nano microcontroller to monitor power availability using transformers, rectifiers, and voltage sensors. It automatically switches to the generator when main power fails, starts the generator if necessary, and reverts to the NEPA when power is restored, shutting down the generator to conserve fuel. A Liquid Crystal Display displays real-time system status, while a buzzer provides alerts. The system was successfully tested, demonstrating reliable detection of power failures and smooth transitions between sources. These results imply improved power management, reduced human intervention, and enhanced efficiency in both residential and industrial applications.
