Abstract

This project presents the design and development of an automatic room light controller system utilizing Arduino technology. The system aims to improve user convenience and potentially reduce energy consumption by automating lighting based on user presence. Two strategically positioned infrared (IR) sensors detect entry and exit, triggering an LED to turn ON for illumination when a person enters and turn OFF upon their departure. A Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) provides visual feedback on room occupancy status. The system demonstrates the effectiveness of Arduino in automating basic functionalities based on sensor inputs. While the current iteration focuses on a binary occupancy state and single LED control.
