Abstract
Technology now plays a crucial role in satisfying human requirements. However, as technology advances more challenges appear. Throughout the years, electronic voting has been utilized in many ways to boost efficiency and reduce errors. Still, they continue to pose difficulties because of lack of security, which makes it easy to tamper with votes after ballots has been casted through paper thumb printing, thereby threatening the transparency of votes and causing dissatisfaction among both voters and political authorities. A solution to this security issue can be reached through the use of blockchain, an emergent, decentralized, and distributed technology. The technology utilizes the Ethereum network and smart contracts to achieve a secured voter administration and auditable voting records. The blockchain-based voting system comprises of two modules which is integrated and easy to use. The Electoral Commission, which will be in charge of arranging elections, adding registered candidates through smart contracts, is the initial module. The second will be the voter's module, where each person may cast a vote for a candidate in their respective constituency and the ballot will be recorded on the blockchain in order to make it tamper-proof. This electronic voting system which uses blockchain technology will produce a free and fair election void of electoral malpractice. I recommend the blockchain-based electronic voting system because it will help in ensuring the accuracy of election results.
