This project work titled the Importance of mannequin, in textile studio practice, the absence or improper use of mannequins significantly hinders the garment design and production process. Mannequins are vital for visualizing, fitting, and refining designs in three dimensions, allowing designers to assess the drape, fit, and overall aesthetic of a garment. Addressing this issue involves ensuring that mannequins are available and effectively used in textile practices to enhance design precision and creativity. The main objective of the project is to promote functional aesthetics through the production of sculptural mannequins, To promote a wider horizon of patronage of sculpture, To provide the Nigerian fashion world with mannequins that have our appropriate human forms and contours to suitably display and portray our fashion and to promote the application of mannequins in art performance to curtail physical and emotional hazards to artists and animals as well as curtail the attendant public outrage. The exploratory, descriptive and survey research methods were adopted in the cause of this project work. The work under review is a lady gown knitted with Brother KH881 knitting machine with wool, the gown is up to the knee when placed on the mannequin, it is designed colour yellow-brown, colour wine, white and ashes. The gown is designed in round neck pattern and is handless it is 28 in heights. Conclusively, mannequins are essential tools in the retail, fashion, and design industries due to their significant impact on visual merchandising, customer experience, and sales. They play a key role in displaying products realistically, guiding customers, and enhancing store aesthetics, which ultimately drives consumer engagement and purchases. It is therefore recommended that the use of mannequin should be highly used in the display of different textile drape, fold and fit on a body which can help customer understand the texture, flow and characteristics of various fabrics.
