Critical Analysis of Peer Victimization Dynamics Among Secondary School Students of Nri Education Zone of Anambra State

Abstract
ABSTRACT This research investigated the influence of social media on criminal activities among youths in Nnewi, Anambra State. Four research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. Descriptive research design was implored to carry out the research. 203 respondents were used in this study using stratified random sampling techniques. Instrument for data was a structured questionnaire developed by the researcher. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, using SPSS Version 25. Overall, the study's findings suggest that peer victimization is a significant problem among secondary school students, with serious consequences for students' mental health and well-being. The findings highlight the need for schools to take a proactive approach to addressing peer victimization, through awareness and education programs, reporting mechanisms, supervision, and disciplinary measures. The study concluded that peer victimization is a significant problem among secondary school students, with verbal victimization being the most common form. The study also highlighted the negative consequences of peer victimization, including depression, social isolation, physical health problems, and academic struggles.
