Abstract
ABSTRACT 6 Biogas technology offers a renewable energy source derived from organic waste through anaerobic digestion, presenting opportunities to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, lower emissions, and promote a circular economy. The paper discusses the environmental benefits of biogas in terms of reducing methane emissions from organic waste decomposition, contributing to carbon sequestration, and supporting climate resilience. Additionally, the socio-economic implications of biogas technology are examined, emphasizing its role in promoting rural development, creating jobs, and enhancing energy security. The paper concludes by underscoring the importance of integrating biogas technology into climate change mitigation strategies and sustainable development initiatives to foster a low-carbon future and achieve global climate goals.
